PRE-PRODUCTION

CASTING

LUCETTA MERCURIO

HIGHT: 165 cm

Lucetta was a perfect candidate for the role of playing the artist KIE WEST as I was looking for a blow average height girl around the age of 17-18 who conveyed innocent stereotypes, entailing her dark doe eyes are short dirty blonde hair.

FRONT

PROFILE

GUILLE SAINZ

HIGHT: 186cm

When looking for a supporting actor in my music video I was looking for a stereotypical-looking 'boyfriend' who had a noticeable height difference from my main character 'Kie West'. His bold features of dark hair and blue eyes perfectly balance Lucetta and tie in with the production logo that intails a blue eye.

COSTUME + CHEMISTRY CHECK

Guillermos costume consisted of a more basic outfit, including a simple leather jacket, white t-shirt and dark jeans to convey the stereotypical 'boy-friend' look, especially through the leather jacker which commonly presents a sense of masculinity and dominance.

Lucetta also had quite a simple outfit with mostly pastel-light colours to convey a sense of innocence and youth. The blues where enhanced when contrasting the reappearing electric guitar she plays throught the video.

In order to make the video seem natural and unstaged, I wanted to make sure the actors were comfortable with each other in order to connect to the audience the history and prior relationships they have within the narrative. Throughout production, behind-the-scenes photos were taken during shooting breaks highlighting the true chemistry the actors had with each other, later being seen in the music video itself.

And I'd give up forever to touch you
'Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be
And I don't want to go home right now

And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
And sooner or later, it's over
I just don't wanna miss you tonight

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies
Yeah, you bleed just to know, you're alive

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am

The opening lines of the song immediately set a tone of yearning and longing. The narrator expresses a desire to touch someone they are deeply connected to, and feel that there is a mutual understanding between them. They suggest that this person is the closest thing they have to heaven, and the idea of leaving their presence is not appealing - themes inwhich are presented in my music video then the character 'Kie West '

The second verse of the song is introspective and revealing. The narrator suggests that they feel misunderstood by the world around them, and that their connection to this person is something that others might not comprehend. They express a desire for honesty and authenticity in their relationship, even if it means showing vulnerability.

The chorus emphasizes the importance of living in the moment and cherishing the time we have with those we care about. The narrator is completely consumed by their feelings for the person they are singing to, and expresses a desire to experience everything about them. They acknowledge that nothing lasts forever, but they want to make the most of the time they have together.

The chorus is repeated again to reinforce the central message of the song: that the moment we are in is precious, and that we should make the most of it with those we care about.

ORIGINAL AV SCRIPT

FINAL IDEA:

Originally, I was going to incorporate a whole band in order to fit the codes and conventions of the indie rock genre but later decided to make it a single artist to better fit the narrative of the music video: this being a girl - Kie west - who writes a sad love song over her ex-boyfriend, reminiscing the past while she relives her joyful memories with him. This then made it easier to tie in my three components together - the music video - digipak - and social media - making the connection within them more fluent and synchronised seeing as the promotion was focused on her.

Originally, "Iris" is a song by American rock band the Goo Goo Dolls, released in 1998. The song was written for the soundtrack of the film "City of Angels," and has since become one of the band's most popular and enduring songs.

LYRIC ANALYSIS

Shooting Day 1 :

December 9th - 5 hours

(Lucetta + Guillermo)

Shooting day 2 :

February 24th - 3 Hours

(Lucetta)

Shooting day 3:

February 26 - 2 hours

(Lucetta)

Day 1: Lucetta and Guillermo were both able to film, I shot all Shots with both of them and mapped out where Lucettas scenes alone would correlate. Overall a great day and Only some scenes with Lucetta herself were needing to be reshot.

Day 2: Today, only Lucetta was present as Guillermo was not needed. We reshot some walking scenes and shot all digipak photos as well as Universal shots playing guitar to be tuned throughput the music video.

Day 3: after reviewing all the footage, I established multiple shots that I did not like or did not fit the video very well - these were all reshot today with only Lucetta as Guillermo was out the country.
